With the Divinity E-commerce Platform, you can accept Amazpn payments in addition to your standard merchant account, or as your sole payment type.

Amazon offers two popular solutions for merchants to accept online payments:

Amazon FPS;
Checkout By Amazon.

Amazon FPS acts just like a credit card gateway and allows your customers to pay for their orders without leaving your online store, while Checkout By Amazon allows your customers to use their Amazon account to make a purchase while temporarily leaving your online store.

What is the difference between Amazon FPS and Checkout By Amazon?

Amazon Flexible Payments Service (Amazon FPS)

Features:

Uses Divinity checkout flow
Redirects to Amazon strictly for payment information only
Order is placed on Divinity website
Supports authorization and immediate capture
Supports authorization and delayed captured when shipped
Supports voids, refunds, and cancels
Supports tax, shipping and coupons using Divinity's configurations
FPS is a payment engine only. Amazon does not provide you with any tools for managing orders.

When to use FPS:

If you need to support authorization and immediate capture.
If you want the checkout process to take place on your own website.
If you support digital products (downloadables).
If you tend to back-order and pre-order items.
If you do split shipping (ship line items on a single order at different dates).
If you need to support multiple shipping addresses per single order.

Checkout By Amazon

Features:

Uses Amazon checkout flow
Redirects from Divinity shopping cart preview to complete order
Amazon maintains addresses, shipping, payment info, ect.
Entire checkout and order place is on Amazon side.
Supports only authorization and delayed capture when entire order is shipped. You will only get your funds once you mark the order as shipped in Divinity.
Supports voids, refunds, and cancels
Supports tax, shipping and coupons using Divinity's configurations

When to use CBA:

If you want to have a true alternate checkout that takes advantage of all Amazon has to offer.
It is Amazon's most popular way to integrate.
Method is recommended for most customers.

Amazon FPS enables tens of millions of existing Amazon customers to transact online with little friction, simply using the same accounts and payment methods that they use for purchases on Amazon.com - without having to re-enter information.

Pricing

There is no minimum fee and no start-up charges to use Amazon FPS. In addition, you can use the Amazon FPS Sandbox for free.

Fees are assessed on a per-transaction basis and vary depending on the payment method used and the transaction amount:

1.5% + $0.01 for Amazon Payments balance transfers.
2.0% + $0.05 for bank account debits.
2.9% + $0.30 for credit card for transactions above $10 and 5%+$0.05 for credit card for transactions below $10.

Pricing

There are no start-up charges, monthly charges, hidden fees, or long-term contracts when using Checkout by Amazon.

Fees are assessed on a per-transaction basis and vary depending on the transaction amount. They are based on a percentage of the transaction amount plus a per transaction fee.

For transactions >= $10:
2.9% + $0.30 for all transactions
