• Share the same category tree or have a separate category tree;
• Share the same layout or have a completely different design and layout;

You can even run each storefront under a completely different domain name, appearing as a separate website business entity to your customers!

• Multiple Stores that sells products at different or the same price

There are two modes that can be used with multi template:
1) Do not share the carts - so the sites appear totally separate.
2) Share the carts - so even if you have site1.com and site2.com, any items you add to cart on one site are shown on all sites.
